Activity: Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom: What are the Letters?

Activity Overview: Students will use the ABC grid and take turns drawing picture cards and move the Bee-bot to the letter that corresponds to the picture card’s initial sound.
Activity Objectives:
Students will recognize and name the letters of the alphabet.
Student will verbalize the sounds of the letters of the alphabet.
Students will verbalize initial sounds of the picture cards.
Students will move the bee-bot to correct letter by using the correct commands.

Students use picture cards and focus on medial sounds.
Students use picture cards and focus on final sounds.
Students move bee-bot and spell and record 3-4 letter words.
Students move bee-bot and spell and record grade level sight words.
Students move bee-bot to travel to all the letters of the alphabet (from A-Z).
Students move bee-bot to beginning letters of classmates’ names.
Students draw matching uppercase and/or lowercase letter to match letter to on letter grid.
